Indian television and film actor Sidharth Shukla has passed away at the age of 40.
According to media reports a senior official at Mumbai's Cooper Hospital stated that he was brought dead to the hospital. While reports claimed that he died of a heart attack, a post mortem report is awaited for confirmation.
The actor is known for his role in the TV Show Balika Vadhu and as the winner of Big Boss 13. He made his Bollywood debut in a supporting role in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. He is survived by his mother and two sisters.
The death left the entertainment industry shocked. Actor Manoj Bajpayee took to Twitter to pay tribute and wrote, "OMG!!! This is So Shocking!!! Words will fail to describe the shock and sense of loss of his near and dear ones !!! May he rest in peace !!! Folded handsFolded hands No yaar !!!!"
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar also tweeted, "Really sad to know about the passing away of #SiddharthShukla. I didn’t know him personally but it’s heartbreaking to know of such a talented life gone so soon. Om Shanti."
Many from the entertainment industry took to social media to mourn the untimely demise of the actor. Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, Shreya Ghoshal, Maniesh Paul, Koena Mitra, Bipasha Basu, also expressed their shock.
