Washington: One person was killed and at least five were injured in a shooting late on Monday in the northeastern part of Washington D.C.

The shooting took place in the Kingman Park neighbourhood outside an apartment complex, local police said.
Investigations are still underway to find out the motives behind the incident.

Last July, the US House of Representatives has passed a bill that would ban assault weapons for the first time in decades, in response to a series of mass shootings that shocked the US.
