Director-General Political at UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Karen Pierce, met with Dr Ali bin Sumaikh Al Marri, Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), and Qatar’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Yousef bin Ali Al Khater.
The meeting reviewed the bilateral relations and means of strengthening and developing them, in addition to issues of common concern.
Human rights is the most affected aspects of the current crisis in the Gulf as many citizens and expatriates in these countries have been affected, said Dr Al Marri.
The siege countries are continuing to violate the human rights including health, education and families unity in clear violations to the international conventions, he added.
All need to stand against such violations, Al Marri said, calling on the UK Foreign Ministry to play its role to end this crisis and condemn the violations of human rights and the rights to free media and free of expression.
