Ankara: Turkey yesterday ratified a memorandum of understanding (MoU), with the State of Qatar, on cooperation in the fields of agriculture and livestock.
Under the memorandum of understanding published in the Turkish Official Gazette, this cooperation will include the exchange of technical expertise and the results of scientific research in these two sectors.
The two sides will also hold seminars, conferences and meetings dealing with ways of developing the two sectors, in addition to promoting investment cooperation between private institutions and companies operating in the field of agricultural marketing.
Under the MoU, the two sides also cooperate in joint projects in irrigation, plant protection and the establishment of veterinary laboratories. Moreover, a joint agricultural steering committee will be established to monitor and evaluate the progress of cooperation. The committee will meet regularly in both countries.
