Doha: The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has launched a redesigned website (www.sc.qa) which allows the world to track Qatar’s progress on the road to hosting 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The new site in Arabic and English brings tournament preparations to life and provides information about stadium development, infrastructure projects and legacy initiatives in a more accessible and interactive way.
It also features SC’s new film, ‘Explore Amazing. The four-minute video offers fans a glimpse of how spectacular 2022 FIFA World Cup will be and highlights SC’s legacy plans, including how stadiums will benefit communities across the country.
Nasser Al Khater, Assistant Secretary-General, Tournament Affairs, SC, said: “SC is making rapid progress in delivering the stadiums, host country operations and legacy on the road to 2022.”
He said the committee is “proud of our achievements so far and excited about the next six years and beyond. Our journey is one of innovation, unification and exploration and the website and the film offer a never-before-seen view of what to expect in 2022”.
Building upon the website launched in 2014, the new-look portal offers new features. Qatar residents, football fans and stakeholders can quickly access details of 2022 FIFA World Cup projects and opportunities for participation in SC’s preparations, along with social media sharing functions, optimised navigation and an enhanced news section. It features more content.
Since winning the right to host 2022 FIFA World Cup in December 2010, SC has announced the name, location and design of five stadiums and launched legacy initiatives, including Generation Amazing, Challenge 22 and Josoor Institute.
Al Khater said: “We’re almost halfway through our journey to 2022. A lot of progress has been made but a lot more is still to come.
“I would urge everyone to visit www.sc.qa, watch the film and join us on the journey to what will become a defining moment in our nation’s and Asia’s history.”
