52 new radars installed in various areas

DOHA: Fifty-two new radars and cameras have been installed recently to record violations of overtaking from the right side, said Brigadier Mohamed Saad Al Kharji, Director, Traffic Department, yesterday.

Areas like Al Waab, Ramada Intersection and some other intersections have been provided with radars, he added.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has recently doubled fines for overtaking through right side to QR1,000 from QR500.
The ministry said recently that there were more than 600 violations of overtaking through right side, stopping in yellow box and changing lanes at intersections and started installing radars since 2013 in Doha.
