Qatar sends relief plane to Yemen

Doha: Following directives of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, a planeload of assistance left for brethren in Yemen yesterday.
A Lekhwiya team accompanied the relief and was received at Aden International Airport by Yemeni officials to facilitate distribution to the needy. The permanent research, rescue and humanitarian assistance committee, headed by Lekhwiya, coordinated with authorities and prepared aid, including foodstuff and medical supplies.
Omani FM arrives  for meeting 
Doha: Oman’s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah arrived in Doha yesterday to participate in a joint meeting of the GCC foreign ministers with US Secretary of State John Kerry. Abdullah and his delegation were welcomed at Hamad International Airport by Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamad Al Attiyah and Omani Ambassador Mohammed bin Nasser Al Wahaibi.

Al Nasser attends UN forum


Barcelona: United Nations Alliance of Civilisations High Representative Nassir Abdulaziz Al Nasser has stressed that the international community is able to eliminate violent extremism and radicalism through dialogue between cultures and religions and practical approaches and constructive initiatives to achieve building trust between communities and long-term partnerships that take into account the common interest of global peace and security.
Al Nasser made the remarks during a meeting on dialogue between cultures and religions at Union for the Mediterranean headquarters in Barcelona.
He was invited by Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Jose Manuel Garcia to chair the meeting. It  was the first meeting on a long-term plan to strengthen the capacity of organisations and promote inter-cooperation to contribute to addressing discrimination and intolerance. QNA
