New York: Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre and shortstop Elvis Andrus each hit two-run homers as the Rangers beat the San Francisco Giants 6-3.
Both of the home runs came off San Francisco ace Madison Bumgarner, who matched a season high by allowing six earned runs.
Beltre put the Rangers up 2-0 with his homer to left in the first and Andrus capped a four-run second with his shot to left, giving the Rangers a 6-2 edge. Catcher Chris Gimenez and center fielder Delino DeShields also had RBIs in the inning.
Texas starter Nick Martinez pitched 6-1/3 innings for his first win since June 9. He gave up seven hits and struck out four.
Blue Jays 7, Royals 6 (11 innings)
Third baseman Josh Donaldson hit a single in the 11th inning to give the Toronto Blue Jays a 7-6 victory over the Kansas City Royals. Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki singled with one out in the 11th against left-hander Franklin Morales then took second when Morales was called for a balk on a throw to first with Donaldson at the plate.
Red Sox 7, Rays 5
Mike Napoli launched a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning as Boston pulled out a 7-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Phillies 9, Braves 3
David Buchanan pitched one of the best games of his young major league career and got all the backing he would need from the Phillies offense in a 9-3 win over the Atlanta Braves that gave them maximum points.
Buchanan went 7-1/3 innings and gave up three runs, two of which came from a two-run home run by Atlanta first baseman Freddie Freeman, before he was replaced.AGENCIES
