DOHA: The Turkish Asem troupe enthraled audiences at Katara Esplanade with folk dances on Friday and Saturday. The show was part of Cultural Diversity Festival organised by Cultural Village Foundation-Katara, in cooperation with the Unesco Office in Doha and the National Qatari Committee for Culture, Education and Science.
The performances reflected the traditional rich cultural elements of Anatolia as the troupe presented folk dances in ‘halay’; ‘horon’; ‘bar’; and ‘karsilama’; types from different region of Anatolia.
The group has participated in many international festivals and events.
