Doha, Qatar: Qatar Reads, an initiative under Qatar National Library dedicated to fostering a culture of reading across Qatar, is hosting an interactive booth at Doha Festival City, from April 1 to April 22.
The activation aims to deepen engagement with the Family Reading Programme (FRP), a structured initiative designed to support parents in building consistent reading habits at home, by offering families an accessible space to discover and enrol in the programme directly.
Visitors to the booth will see this mission brought to life through a schedule of activities tailored for children and families. These include interactive storytelling sessions, reading challenges, creative literacy-based activities, and guided explorations of age-appropriate book selections. The experience is designed not only to entertain but also to show how reading can become a natural, enjoyable part of family life.
The Qatar Reads team will be present throughout the three-week period to provide guidance on the programme’s structure, benefits, and enrolment process. Families will have the opportunity to subscribe directly at the booth, receive personalized support, and better understand how the programme can strengthen their children’s literacy development and family bonds.
This effort builds on the strong engagement witnessed during the previous Reading Space activation in September 2025, reinforcing Qatar Reads’ commitment to ongoing engagement with families across Qatar in high-visibility public spaces.
Manager of Qatar Reads, Fatema Al-Malki said, “Reading begins at home and that is the belief at the heart of Qatar Reads. Through the Family Reading Programme, we equip parents with practical tools and structured support to make reading a shared daily experience. Our presence at Doha Festival City allows us to meet families where they are, in a welcoming and accessible environment, and invite them to take an active step toward building lasting reading habits.”
Associate Director, Malls Leasing, Doha Festival City, commented Mohamed El-Sharkawy, “At Doha Festival City, we are committed to creating meaningful, community-driven experiences that bring real value to our visitors. Our collaboration with Qatar National Library’s Qatar Reads reflects our continued focus on purposeful on-site activations that inspire learning, creativity and family connection.
