DOHA: Qatar Airways (QA) will again participate in the world’s largest travel and trade event, ITB Berlin, from March 9 to 13 and plans to make a significant network announcement.
The world’s fastest growing airline, with the youngest fleet, will announce new destinations and reveal a new exhibition stand to welcome guests from around the globe.
The stand will feature particular elements of Hamad International Airport — QA’s new home since 2014, — which is becoming a favourite of world travellers for its passenger-centric design. Any traveller passing through QA’s Doha hub benefits from seamless transfers at the state-of-the-art airport, which offers over 70 shops and boutiques and 30 restaurants, world-class lounges, a hotel and spa and sports facilities.
Akbar Al Baker, Group Chief Executive, QA, is looking forward to another successful show in Berlin: “The way people travel is changing, and ITB showcases latest trends and innovations. We are looking forward to leading the industry with our superior business and economy products, and announcing exciting new destinations for our passengers. We are a young company that is growing rapidly. With a current fleet of 177 modern aircraft, we are connecting more passengers to our global network of more than 150 destinations, and offer a product that can expertly match their travel needs. This is what we will demonstrate again at ITB.”
Trade fair visitors are encouraged to experience QA’s premium products and customer service in Hall 22.B, booth 207. The airline’s A380 and A350 First Class and Business Class seats will be on display, with visitors invited to put them to the test. The First Class suite is equipped with an extendable, flat bed that is over 2.3 metres in length, along with a 26-inch HD screen. The Business Class seat extends to two metres long to convert into a complete bed and enjoys an entertainment system with a 17-inch HD screen.
The new destinations to be announced will add to an exciting year of inaugurals. QA started service to Los Angeles on January 1, Ras Al Khaimah on February 2 and Sydney on March 1. It begins service to Boston, the US, on March 16; Birmingham, the UK, on March 30; Adelaide, Australia, on May 2; Yerevan, Armenia, on May 15 and Atlanta, the US, on June 1.
QA will this year reveal a completely redesigned exhibition stand. Its latest brand campaign theme ‘Going Places Together’ will be reflected in the redesign and activities, with a focus on bringing travellers closer. QA proposes a fresh, new direction. The ethos presented over the course of this communication strategy reflects the development of QA as a brand and its role as a leader in the aerospace industry.
Last year’s ITB show featured over 10,000 exhibitors from over 180 countries, who presented products and services to around 175,000 visitors. This year, the exhibition celebrates its 50th anniversary. The Peninsula
