Power outage at the Pearl-Qatar: Kahramaa

Doha: Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) announced that the Pearl–Qatar experienced a power outage today from 6:57am due to road works at Al Shamal road. The damage affected the main network feeding the Pearl.

The power has been cut from under the Al Kharaitiyat bridge near IKEA, Kahramaa said on soacial media.
Once reported, Kahramaa standby teams rushed to the site to restore power. The emergency teams managed to allocate the defected line beneath Al- Khuraitiat Bridge.
The Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada and President of Kahramaa inspected the restoration work, Kahramaa tweeted.
The vital facilities were supplied by mobile generators in coordination with the Pearl Administration. Kahramaa teams are working in full swing to restore the electricity supply to the Pearl at the earliest.


Kahramaa apologized, via its social media platforms, to the affected customers for the inconvenience happened due to the involuntary incident. It reiterates its endeavor to meet customers’ needs as per its mission. Development will be announced, if any, via Kahramaa social media channels for more clarification.
