We are committed to providing a reliable electrical network that supports the success of the tournament and reflects the State’s readiness to host major sporting events.”
Preparations also include conducting precise testing of protection systems, inspecting control panels and distribution equipment to verify their rapid response during emergencies, and strengthening the readiness of substations supplying stadiums and event zones by improving voltage quality, enhancing transformer performance, and carrying out comprehensive inspection plans for switchgear and distribution routes.
KAHRAMAA relies on advanced digital monitoring systems that track electrical loads and analyze grid performance in real time, enabling swift operational decisions in the event of rising loads or any indicators that require intervention. The Corporation has also deployed specialized field teams of engineers and technicians positioned near stadiums and tournament facilities, supported by 24-hour emergency units to ensure rapid response to any incident. In addition, backup generators and dedicated support systems have been provided for sensitive facilities to ensure voltage stability under all operating conditions.

Water Sector – Comprehensive Readiness and an Integrated Supply and Monitoring System
KAHRAMAA relies on an advanced and wide-scale water system as part of its preparations for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025. This system is supported by a robust infrastructure that includes large-capacity strategic reservoirs distributed across various regions of the country to always ensure water availability, even during peak operational periods. The corporation manages this system according to strict standards that ensure supply stability, including the distribution of water through flexible networks capable of accommodating high demand during the tournament days.
Eng. Fahad Yousef Tolefat, Sector Director of Water Networks Affairs at the Corporation, also stated: “The Water Networks Affairs places great importance on ensuring a stable and secure water supply throughout the tournament. We have strengthened the readiness of strategic reservoirs and distribution networks, activated digital monitoring systems to track water levels and pressure in real time, and implemented advanced laboratory testing programs along with continuous field inspections to ensure water quality and the safe supply of water to stadiums and facilities. Our full readiness reflects KAHRAMAA’s commitment to supporting the tournament with the highest levels of efficiency and reliability.”
KAHRAMAA also utilizes high-precision, real-time monitoring systems to continuously track water levels and network pressure, enabling technical teams to intervene promptly in the event of any fluctuation. The corporation implements an advanced laboratory testing program in coordination with the central laboratory, covering the analysis of water samples from stadiums, hotels, and sports facilities to ensure compliance with the highest international health standards. In addition, field inspection teams carry out regular on-site reviews of distribution pipelines, control rooms, pumping stations, and metering systems, supported by the preparation of daily operational reports to monitor performance and enhance operational decision-making with high accuracy and responsiveness.

Conservation and Energy Efficiency – A System Based on Modern Technologies, Operational Control, and Community Awareness
KAHRAMAA strengthens its conservation efforts during the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 through an integrated system that relies on the latest technologies, the implementation of effective regulatory policies, and awareness programs targeting users inside and outside sports facilities. On the technical front, stadiums and tournament venues have been equipped with electric vehicle charging units that meet the highest standards, supporting sustainable mobility options for fans and reducing emissions. Energy-efficiency audits are also conducted within stadiums, including assessments of lighting, air-conditioning systems, water pressure, and pump-operation methods, based on which operational plans are developed to reduce waste and enhance energy-use efficiency.
At the regulatory level, KAHRAMAA has established a monitoring framework that tracks actual electricity and water consumption in sports facilities and hotels around the clock, with continuous analysis of key performance indicators to ensure optimal resource utilization. These efforts are aligned with clearly defined policies aimed at load management, improving cooling-system efficiency, and enhancing distribution mechanisms to achieve the highest level of operational performance.
On the awareness side, KAHRAMAA is launching campaigns inside stadiums and fan zones to raise awareness about the importance of conserving electricity and water, highlighting the impact of responsible behavior in reducing carbon emissions. Additionally, digital systems are being used to analyze consumption patterns and guide operational improvements that contribute to enhanced energy efficiency.
District Cooling Services – High Operational Efficiency, Smart Load Management, and Regulatory Support
KAHRAMAA, represented by the District Cooling Services Department, is working to ensure the readiness and efficiency of district cooling systems in stadiums and facilities associated with the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, considering varying climatic conditions and high operational requirements. These systems rely on advanced energy-efficiency technologies that contribute to reducing electricity and water consumption, as district cooling plants provide a comfortable and moderate environment inside stadiums and across facilities, ensuring the comfort of both fans and players. District cooling systems help reduce energy consumption by up to 40% compared to traditional air-conditioning systems, in addition to enhancing operational efficiency and reducing reliance on desalinated water, thereby supporting environmental sustainability goals and Qatar National Vision 2030.
As part of its preparations for the tournament, KAHRAMAA is developing cooling systems in accordance with the highest technical standards by identifying actual thermal-load requirements and applying smart technologies to manage loads and ensure smooth operations. The corporation also places special focus on upgrading existing systems to achieve maximum efficiency and ensure the ability to meet the expected high demand during the tournament. Preparations include strengthening preventive-maintenance procedures, conducting inspection visits to cooling plants, and activating digital monitoring and operational mechanisms that ensure uninterrupted system performance, in addition to establishing rapid-response plans for any emergency that may affect service continuity.
District cooling systems in Qatar have demonstrated their prominent role during previous tournaments, where they significantly contributed to reducing energy and water consumption. KAHRAMAA continues to advance this sector through updated legislation and regulatory policies, including Law No. (19) of 2024 regulating district cooling services and its associated executive regulations, which enhance system efficiency, improve service quality, and affirm the sector’s full readiness to support the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 in line with the highest performance and sustainability standards.

Renewable Energy – Direct Support for the Tournament Through Clean and Integrated Solar Power Production
KAHRAMAA’s efforts in the renewable energy sector reflect the State’s commitment to reducing emissions and increasing reliance on clean energy. The corporation supports the operation of three central solar power plants: Al Kharsaah Solar Power Plant with a production capacity of 800 MW, Ras Laffan Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 458 MW, and Mesaieed Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 417 MW. These plants represent some of the largest renewable energy projects in the region and significantly contribute to reducing the amount of gas required for electricity generation. It was also announced that the Dukhan solar power plant, which will be the largest in Qatar with a production capacity reaching 2000 MW, is currently under construction and expected to be completed by 2030.
KAHRAMAA continues its efforts by implementing the National Renewable Energy Strategy of the State of Qatar. Through this strategy, KAHRAMAA has issued technical and regulatory guidelines for solar energy and organized the rooftop distributed solar systems for consumers. The strategy aims to reach 4000 distributed solar systems and 200 MW of distributed generation by 2030, representing approximately 18% of Qatar’s total electricity production. The “BeSolar” program further enhances the role of the community in participating in clean-energy production by enabling residential and commercial solar systems to be connected to the grid under the net-metering mechanism.
In the context of the tournament, KAHRAMAA monitors the performance of the solar-energy systems serving the sports facilities and ensures seamless integration of renewable-energy generation with the national grid through updated digital platforms that provide real-time data on production and consumption. This strengthens sustainability and reduces emissions associated with operating the event’s facilities.
