Doha: The Police College joined the Association of Police Training Institutions in Asia (APTA) as the first Arab college to join APTA. It is considered a great achievement in its quest for partnership with regional and international police associations.

In a statement, the Police College said that APTA unanimously approved the college’s accession to it, during the sixth virtual meeting held by the association in the Korean capital Seoul. College’s delegation was headed by the Police College Director-General Brig. Gen. Abdulrahman Majid Al Sulaiti.

Brig. Gen. Al Sulaiti thanked the APTA members, expressing his happiness for their confidence by approving the Police College to work together.

He invited the APTA members to attend the graduation ceremony of the fifth batch at the Police College in February 2023.

The accession of the Police College came as a result of coordination between the College and the APTA Secretariat in early August 2022, where the subject of accession was included in the agenda items of the sixth meeting of the association.

Prior to the voting process for joining the association, the college provided a detailed presentation about its academic and training programmes since its establishment in 2013.

APTA includes 28 members from police colleges and academies from Asian countries, which contribute to the advancement of security work on the continent in all academic scientific aspects and advanced police training.
