The Al Mazruah vegetable market will reopen in October, and the Ministry of Environment is about to consider opening two more such markets, in Al Khor and Al Wakra, after the success of the one in Umm Salal.

Talk continues in social media about the launch of Qatar’s first satellite, Es’hail 1.

Many people are demanding that the authorities put up fresh road signs on internal road as many of the old signs have faded or been damaged by vehicles. They want the new signs to be taller to be better visible.

People have demanded that Woqod increase the number of sales outlets for ‘Shafaf’ cooking gas cylinders, which are available only in Woqod fuel stations and a small number of supermarkets.

Some people are demanding that the authorities speed up relocation of workers from residential areas for families. There must be coordination between municipalities in implementation of the law and taking action against violation of rules related to workers’ housing. 

It has been suggested that an independent body be established for safe treatment of waste, and the possibility of involving the private sector in management and disposal of waste be studied.

Some peopled have suggested the establishment of a company to recycle old tires, which are scattered in large numbers in different parts of the country and are harming the environment.

There is discussion in social media about a draft law for national service, with some people suggesting mandatory military training to create a reserve force to be used during emergencies. 

Many citizens are criticizing some smokers’ habit of lighting up in commercial centres and malls, particularly in lifts and at entrances, and have called for respect for rules and other people’s health.

A ban on the sale of alloy wheels has been suggested. These wheels, sold by many shops on Salwa Road, are said to be breakable, which poses a threat to the lives of those in the vehicle.
