Doha: As part of Al Mahd International School’s fun-educational plan for the Academic year 2017-2018, ‘Pyjama Day’ was held on March 8 to celebrate World Book Day.
Its theme served as an excellent chance to address a variety of important life lessons through reading like settling when it comes to bedtime. Teachers emphasised the importance of maintaining an appropriate sleep schedule, as well as respecting the household routines.
The English Department incorporated ‘Pyjama Day’ with Reading and Spelling incentives. One of the activities was an inter-class ‘Spelling Bee’ competition amongst each grade level. The objectives of this competition was to demonstrate an exciting spelling activity by motivating students to improve their spelling abilities.
As a school, they will also held a ‘Readathon’. Staff and students were seen reading their own book, at the same time, for 15 minutes at the end of the school day.
