Doha, Qatar: The Amir, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a phone call Sunday from the President of the European Commission, HE Ursula von der Leyen.
At the outset of the call, the President of the European Commission expressed her reassurance regarding the situation in the State of Qatar, affirming the European Union’s solidarity and its condemnation of the Iranian aggression against Qatar.
She reiterated the EU’s support for all efforts that enhance Qatar’s security and stability and safeguard its sovereignty, stressing the importance of restraint and deescalation to preserve regional security and peace.
For his part, HH the Amir expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of the European Commission for her solidarity and support, commending the relations of cooperation and partnership between the State of Qatar and the European Union across various fields.
The call also discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as ongoing efforts to support stability and enhance security at both the regional and international levels.
