Tunisian President meets PM, discusses relations

Tunis: President of the Republic of Tunisia H E Kais Saied met yesterday with Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani at the Presidential Palace of Carthage in Tunis, Tunisia. 

At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior conveyed the greetings of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the President of Tunisia, and His Highness’ wishes of further success to His Excellency, and the people of Tunisia continued progress and prosperity. 

The President of Tunisia entrusted H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani to convey his greetings to H H the Amir, wishing His Highness further success and the Qatari people continued development and prosperity.

During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields. 

The meeting was attended by a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister. On the Tunisian side, several Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials attended the meeting. 

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani also met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Tunisia H E Najla Bouden Romdhane at the Government Palace in the Kasbah in Tunis.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways of developing them at all levels. In this regard, the two sides affirmed the governments of the two countries’ aspiration to develop joint cooperation in a way that enhances relations in various fields, especially in economy, energy, health, labour, sports, information technology and tourism, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying H E the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. On the Tunisian side, it was attended by a number of Their Excellencies ministers and senior officials.

The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior also attended the luncheon banquet hosted by the Tunisian Prime Minister in honour of His Excellency and the accompanying delegation.
