Doha: The Al-Ahli Hospital, in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Blood Donor Unit, will hold a Blood Donation Drive today from 8.30am to 2pm.
This initiative formed part of Al-Ahli Hospital’s commitment to the Qatar community and was in line with its corporate social responsibility initiatives which aim to extend support to those in need.
Spreading awareness about the importance of donating blood to boost national blood reserves is critically important to maintain blood supplies in hospitals and emergency trauma centers across Qatar.
Khalid Al Emadi, Chief Executive Officer of the Medicare Group, said: “As a private healthcare provider, it is our Social responsibility to support our community and those in need. We hope to raise awareness and educate our guests and staff through this initiative on the numerous benefits of donating blood.
“We are always keen and proud to host such events at Al-Ahli Hospital and this example highlight the many ways we can all make an important contribution to our community through these worthy causes.”
Jamal Saleh Hammad the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of Projects at Al Ahli Hospital said: “The blood donation drive is testament to our commitment to Qatar’s communities and individuals.
“We are delighted to be part of this response and to be more eager to help and donate. We believe that such initiatives raise public awareness of the importance of donating blood, not only because it may save lives, but also on the health benefits to the donors themselves.”
