Doha: The Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys (QSTSS Boys) has earned the accreditation of Cognia, a nonprofit organisation that provides quality assurance for schools and university education service providers.

Cognia internationally recognises schools and education institutions that meet rigorous standards focused on productive learning environments, equitable resource allocation that meets the needs of learners and effective leadership, said the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in a statement.

With this accreditation, QSTSS Boys has become internationally recognised as a school that meets Cognia quality standards and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement.

Established in 2018, QSTSS Boys is a public school that attracts distinguished Qatari students to study various aspects of modern, integrated curriculum based on teaching Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The school adopts a high-quality education system, which aims to prepare students to get admitted to the best local and international universities.

Commenting on the accreditation, Fawzia Al Khater, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, said: “The Ministry invested in QSTSS Boys by developing an innovative curriculum and providing proper infrastructure to sponsor the distinguished Qatari students and offer all possible resources to prepare them for high-level university education.”

In this specialised school, she said: “We build both minds and skills alike. This international accreditation is a natural outcome that demonstrates the quality of QSTSS’ educations services. We strive to develop the school continuously driven by our belief that the world is changing and developing daily, and that we must work hard to catch up with such rapid developments in education.”

The accreditation conferred by the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission provides QSTSS Boys with an internationally recognised mark of quality, and further demonstrates the school’s commitment to excellence and high-quality academic programs for students. This will certainly contribute to the distinguished educational outcomes at various university education institutions worldwide.

Moreover, it will facilitate the next steps that the school intends to take to obtain the American College Board membership, under which it will become an accredited center for teaching and examining the Advanced Placement and SAT curriculum.
