Doha: Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani yesterday met with Paraguay’s Minister of Industry and Commerce H E Luis Alberto Castiglioni at the Sheraton Doha Hotel.
The meeting deliberated upon discussing commercial and investment cooperation relations between both countries and means to enhancing them, as well as investment climate in both sides and available opportunities for the Qatari and Paraguayan private sectors.
The meeting was attended by the Paraguayan Ambassador to Qatar H E Angel Ramon Barchini and QC Board Members Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidly and Mohamed Sultan Al Jaber.
During the meeting, Sheikh Khalifa praised the distinct relations bounded both countries. He noted that trade exchange between both countries only reached $7m in 2020, adding that it is still under aspirations of both sides.
He underscored the importance of mutual visits and meetings between businessmen from both countries and exploring the possibility to establish joint businesses whether in Qatar or Paraguay, noting this would help develop the two countries’ bilateral trade exchange.
Castiglioni also invited Qatari businessmen to invest in his country, pointing out that there are plenty of investment opportunities in which Qataris can invest in such as food products, natural energy, auto manufacturing, pharmaceutical industries, forests and flowers, and textiles.
